So, who is Marlies Dekkers? – Winner of the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award 2007 for her innovative and exciting designs.
This Dutch designer started her lingerie brand Undressed in 1993, driven by the desire to use her talents to produce a lingerie line which would help women feel better about themselves and their bodies.
Her unique flair has given us a new dimension in underwear; straps, design, raw sex appeal & yet more straps. Marlies Dekkers is no average lingerie designer & her style is as exciting as it is unique.

Gok Wan scores a massive hit once again with tonight’s show.
It is fantastic to see a program that does not revolve around the ’size zero’. At last, real women with real shapes!
Running a real live lingerie shop is an eye opening experience; Gok Wan is right on two very valid points; firstly women are being brain-washed by the media with touched-up images that show an artificial glimpse of perfection. Plus many of the programs on TV are doing little to promote a positive body image for anyone with shape. Secondly as was mentioned on the show tonight, 70% of women are in the wrong size bra.
This second observation we see all the time in the shop; ladies come in wearing bras that are either too large or too small. Some are so far out that the under wires are digging into soft tissue & there is a real danger of physical harm. But it’s not just the actual fit of the bra; it’s the change it makes to you. A great fitting bra makes you feel great; it improves your shape, your posture, & best of all gives you a high level of comfort.
So what’s the secret?
The secret is, have a bra fitting at a reputable shop. At Blush we fit lots of bras totally free & without obligation. This is important, don’t pay for a fitting, it should be free. Don’t buy cheap bras; they may look pretty, but probably won’t give you the support you need. A Prima Donna bra is actually made up from over 50 component parts, it’s a structured bra that supports & still looks sexy.
So, how does this work with our on-line customers? Well, we have a virtual fitting room where you can put in your sizes if you are unsure of your size. With the click of a button they are e-mailed through to us along with your order. We then cast an expert eye & advise if we think your sizing is out. After 6 years of selling on-line with the virtual fitting room we have only a very small amount of people who need to exchange for another size.
Take a look in the mirror; is your bra gaping at the top, is your bust spilling over, is the strap too loose, too tight, digging in? If your bra is leaving marks then this is another tell-tale that you are in the wrong size.
